Missed Lesson or Teacher Absence
The Westshore Music Academy does not offer compensatory lessons or classes for absences and/or missed lessons that occur because students have conflicts, travel out of town, etc. or due to illness. Missed lessons outside of statutory holidays, winter break, spring break and summer break are non-refundable. If your regular instructor is not able to make your lesson, we will provide a qualified sub, and if we cannot find a sub, you will receive an internal credit for that lesson. This is in respect for our faculty members, who set aside a specific time for each student. This time is reserved. The teacher cannot give the time away to someone else or fill it again – thus s/he does not have the opportunity to make up the lost income. Though many students and families are consistent and reliable about attendance, some are not; this policy is a way to support our talented teaching staff.
All tuition fees are non-refundable. The student agrees to provide the Westshore Music Academy with a 2 week formal notice to the end of the month when withdrawing from lessons. No refund will be issued for any remaining lessons.
We don’t issue end-terms/school year reports at the Westshore Music Academy. In order to be informed of the success, progress and areas in need of improvement, talk to your child’s music teacher directly before or after the lesson or contact him via email/phone or through the Westshore Music Academy. Direct personal contact is the best way for communication between the teacher, the student and the parents.
